In my opinion, the absolute best movie of all time would have to be Anastasia. I’ve always been a fan of children’s movies, but this one has been my favorite since I was about three years old. I use to put on my costume dresses, hiking them up to my stubby little knees and say I was dancing like Anastasia in the middle of the Peterhoff Palace. I would watch this movie every day until my mother made it “disappear” for good.

But, in later years, this movie had a different meaning to me. You see, my great-great uncle Yakov Yurovsky led the firing squad that killed the real Romanov family. Information like this should have made me feel guilty and not want to watch a movie filled with historical inaccuracy. However, it made me want to watch it even more! I now own the dvd, and the entire soundtrack of it is on my iPod! With all the music memorized, I can close my eyes and watch Anastasia fighting off Gregory Rasputin and can pick out every inaccurate piece in it as if I were watching it on the big screen. Sure, I may be seventeen right now and shouldn’t partake in “little kid stuff” as my mother would say, but this one movie will always be my favorite.
Love that movie!
